how do I change the brakes on my 2006 jaguar s type I cant seem to get the pads on or the calipers wont turn. I have the tool that is required to take off the caliper but it seem like it just wont move did I miss a step and it has an ABS system
This isn't meant to be rude, but why would you want to change the brakes on your 2006 Jaguar?
This is a very beautiful, complicated, expensive vehicle. Mechanics have to have specialized training and special tools to work on them. Plus, the braking system is one of the most important systems on any vehicle. The brakes have to work just right to stop the "giant moving machine" whenever it is necessary.
If I owned a 2006 Jaguar I would only let Mechanics who have had specialized Jaguar training even touch my car. Even a very good mechanic doesn't always have enough know-how to maintain this specialized automobile.
My advice is to have your Jaguar towed to a Jaguar specialist and let them change the brakes.

Because brakes are a safetly item, I would recommend that you not do your own work unless you've done them before. Jaguar does not make a service book so that people take their vehicles back to the dealership to have factory trained technicians. If you can't get the caliper off, you may have to call the dealer to find out how to remove it. Please be careful and let a technician do this job if you're unsure of any of the procedure. I would hate to see your vehicle damaged and you or anyone else get hurt.

Please see our expert's advice below. It seems as though it would be best for you to take your Jag in to get serviced by a trained Jaguar specialist. Make sure you take it to yoru authorized Jaguar service center for this work.
