I have a 2002 town and country . when I am driving ,it looses power . it don't shut off it just don't get gas anymore and i have to glide to the side of the road and put it in PARK and then it will resume .Ive had this happen 3 times in one day and then ive gone 100 miles and already as much as 1000 miles and nothing happens . i had it in to the dealer 5 times already ( it is in now ) i bought it used but i have an extended warrenty. im very much afraid to drive it . every time they say it is fixed it has not been .GOD FORBID if im in a lot of traffic or on the expressway with my grandkid,s in the van and i cant sell it either knowing it could cause an accident HELP PLEASE THANK YOU
Unfortunately intermitant problems can be the hardest to find. I can understand your frustration and fear, but unless the dealer can get the problem to occur for them, they may have trouble fixing it. The last thing you want them to do is guess, because this only costs you money.
It sounds like it's not setting a check engine code, but make sure that they're checking for codes anyway. It could be a cam shaft position sensor acting up. Again, it's hard to say without seeing the problem.
If the dealership keeps fixing things that aren't the problem, then you need to talk to the service manager or check the lemon laws for your area. You may also want to try to get a second opinion.
