Ongoing discussion with my husband. He says we don't need Acura service to do the regular maintenance on our 2005 Acura TSX. Anyone can do it.
I like the service and treatment at the Acura dealer. They said in about 3 months we'll need the back brakes relined and it should be Acura pads and an Acura dealer to grind/polish the rotors. Should we stick with Acura and pay the price or shop and get the work done for less somewhere else? I like it being done right and he says they'll rip us off. Can you share your best advice? Thanks

Dear Phyllis,
You can have work done anywhere. If you're concerned about maintaining the vehicle for warranty purposes, you must keep all receipts of work done.
That being said, I'm a big backer of going to the dealer. You have to remember that every tech there is trained to work on your vehicle. They know how to fix it and to find the problems because they see them every day.
Unless you can find a really good independent shop, I would stick to the dealership. I've heard many horror stories about people taking their cars in over and over again, and paying, for the same problem because the tech did not know what was wrong with the vehicle because he didn't know how to fix it.
As for the parts...I would definitly buy brake pads from the dealer so that you don't get the noise that cheaper pads give you.
Good luck.
