In June of 2006, I purchased a 2006 Kia Optima. I also purchased an extended warranty. The price of the warranty was $1098. Now I am having second thoughts about spending the price of warranty and wondering if I really need it considering the Kia warranties. Any advice would be appreciated. I realize I am asking for advice only. Although the price is a factor I'm wondering if additional coverage is necessary. Thank you in advance.

Jan,
Without comparing the extended 3rd party warranty against the KIA warranty it would be hard to decide if you will be purchasing too much coverage or overlapping coverage. Here is a link to the KIA warranty to compare:

Some info to help guide you:
Extended warranty or Service contracts:
A contract that covers certain car repairs or problems after the
manufacturers or dealer's warranty expires. Car manufacturers, dealers
and independent companies sell extended warranties. With a new car, the
extended warranty usually must be purchased by the end of the first
year of ownership. If you are keeping a vehicle more than 3 years this
is a consideration, all vehicles are covered for 3 years of 36,000
miles some even cover 10 years or 100,000 miles – so think before you
buy there are a lot of details to read. If you purchase an extended
warranty make sure the dealer is doing the repairs and what the
deductible may be.
