The engine should not really get wet. You should probably get the hood
fixed so that it doesn't create problems. As long as water isn't
raining down on the engine you will probably be fine for a little bit.
Problems occur when things like a distributor cap or alternator gets
wet. This could cause problems with how the car runs. It really depends
on how much water can get on the engine. I would get the hood repaired
as soon as you are able, but you should still be able to drive the
vehicle if there isn't a lot of exposure to the engine.
