I have a '93 Toyota Land Crusier recently jacked up 3 inches 36 inch tires winch brush bar and running boards etc for serioul off road use. The engine fried itself! I am about to put a 350 crate moto? with after market fuel injection Chevy GM transmision and transfer case into this thing for about $10,000. What do you think. Rebuilding the Toyota has been estimated at $7500?
Get a second quote from another repair facility, $7500.00 is seems high for a quote to re-build your Toyota engine. Should be more like $5000.00 with all new hoses , belts , etc.
With all the modifications to put in the new crate engine and transmission, after all is said and done, it may end up cost more than $10,000.00 to complete all the modifications.
I suggest you get your second opinion from an ASE certified heavy line engine and transmission technician who specializes in this type of engine and transmission work.
