I own a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. After my last oil change when I start the oil light stays on for a good five seconds then goes out. The only time this light comes on is at start up. Is this something I should take into the dealership to check?
The first thing I would do it check the oil level. If it is down at all, I would get it into the shop right away. It never hurts to ask questions. You could call on the shop that last changed the oil and see if they noticed anything odd.

This light usually flashes like this when approaching a service interval and
then comes on steady when at the service interval. This is explained in your
vehicles owners manual. it sounds like the maintenence reminder was not reset at
the previous service. Take it back to the dealership to reset or read your owners manual for instructions on how to reset this maintenance reminder light.
