If i cut out the catalytic converter in my 2004 Pontiac 2000 will it cause any problems?

Hi. My key to my 2004 Chrysler Crossfire won't turn to the start position in ignition. Locksmiths already looked and couldn't help. I don't want to go to dealer, since they quoted $1700 to fix there. Any suggestions ,thanks
The threads on the axle (in the center of the rotor) on the passenger side, are they left or right handed threads? I have a 1996 Honda Accord and I cant get the nut broke loose.

While driving, my 1997 Chrysler Sebring jumps or misses.
