Live From The L.A. Auto Show: VW Tiguan Growls Into The Spotlight

Tiguan Just look at it. Doesn’t look like a Tiger? Well, maybe it’s a combination of the name “Tiguan” and the orange and black color scheme, but we still think it has cat-like qualities to it. I have a feeling this one doesn’t just sit around and purr.

Tiguan_la_06 The new Tiguan concept is super fun to look at and extra nice inside. The orange accents in the tire that match the paint scheme is a riot and we love it! We’ve always thought it would be cool to offer colored tires… the technology is out there; it’s just not embraced. The 19-inch rubber has been developed by Continental with an orange radial stripe beneath the profile, which matches the car's paint color. It isn't cosmetic, but a baked-in component of the casing.

Tiguanconcept_05People are calling it the “Baby Touareg” and it seems fitting. It’s really pocket-sized without being minuscule. The other great thing is the planet-friendly power. Under the hood is a Bluetec diesel engine. It features different systems to reduce emissions, and it complies with the strictest emissions standards in the world. Go VW!
