Women's Automotive Association International Now Accepting Scholarship Applications

Since its inception, more than 25 students have benefited from the WAAI scholarship program

01.11.2010 - Birmingham, Michigan For the ninth consecutive year, the Women's Automotive Association International is lending a helping hand to qualified students through its International Scholarship Program, according to a recent announcement by Lorraine Schultz, WAAI founder and CEO.

Established in 2002, the WAAI International Scholarship program is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of industry leaders by providing tuition assistance to eligible candidates enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program on a part-time or full-time basis, and who are pursuing automotive-related careers.

"A college education is expensive," noted Schultz, "and WAAI is here to help. The development and advancement of automotive industry leaders is the core of our vision statement. So it is fitting," she added, "that the goal of the WAAI International Scholarship Committee is to award scholarships to worthy students to help advance their careers in the automotive industry."

Since its inception, more than 25 students have benefited from the WAAI scholarship program, with varying award amounts depending on the applicants' needs. Through its generous sponsorship support, WAAI will again award multiple scholarships during the 2010 calendar year.

Scholarship opportunities are available to all WAAI members and their immediate families as well as the employees and immediate families of WAAI sponsoring companies. But time is of the essence. All applications must be received by January 31. To request an application packet, email to Mary Wetzel, WAAI scholarship director, at mary@tekmodo.net.

Founded in 1995, WAAI centers its efforts on recognizing the achievements of women in the automotive industry, providing networking and relationship-building opportunities, and encouraging growth through mentoring, educational endeavors and scholarships.
