Seat Belt Purses -- Fashion for the Car Girl

Published Aug 23rd 2007, 3:38pm by

Madd_bagt The Harveys, husband and wife, Dana and Melanie, came up with the idea for The Original Seatbeltbag while installing seatbelts into their 1950 Buick. When the job was completed they found themselves with a lot of leftover seatbelts. "What shall we do with it?" asked Dana. "I know", replied Melanie. "How about a matching handbag?" so they made one. Well everybody loved it so much they decided to make more. Now you to can have your very own Original Seatbeltbag.

Each Seatbelt Bag is lined with genuine flight satin, used by the US Airforce to make flight jackets and sewn with NASA certified thread (yes, that's NASA). Bags feature either a magnetic snap closure or a YKK zipper and many bags feature chrome feet imported from Italy. Made of the same seat belt you use to protect your life.

They started making them in our one car garage in California but quickly outgrew it. They have since expanded to a 12,000 ft2 design studio in Santa Ana, California where every SEATBELTBAG is lovingly Built in the USA to exact specifications.

They are committed to producing a bag of superior quality using the finest and most durable materials available. Never satisfied with the status quo, they are constantly adding new colors and styles.

Harveys and MADD have teamed up for the third consecutive year to promote and support drunk driving awareness. The new Key Collection from MADD features a fun new lining that demonstrates an assortment of oddly shaped keys and phrases that remind you that "Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk." Also included is MADD Stop Sign keychain. For every bag purchased Harveys will gladly donate $25.00 to MADD.

Environmentally cool, supports a great cause, a fashion statement and a great accessory for all the car loving women , ( including me).
