Poll: Search engine marketing showing no sign of slowing down
Paid search is currently the key driver of US online advertising, and according to a report by eMarketer, spending on paid search in 2008 will exceed the $9.6 billion that was spent on all online advertising in 2004. The report goes on to show two powerhouses, Google and Yahoo!, dominate the space sharing more than 90 percent of US paid search market.

DealerTrack to acquire Arkona, Inc.
DealerTrack Holdings Inc., the maker of financial software for car dealers, said Friday that it agreed to buy rival Arkona Inc. for $58.9 million. The deal marks DealerTrack's fifth acquisition since it went public in December 2005. The Lake Success, L.I.-based company will pay $1.38 a share in cash -- a 3 percent premium over Arkona's closing price of $1.34 on Thursday. Arkona, the Salt Lake City software maker whose products are aimed at payroll, inventory and other back-office management, earned $475,300, or 1 cent a share, on revenue of $3.47 million, in its fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31.
