Not that we at AutoAid in Van Nuys California haven't been Female Friendly for the past 31 years in business, but becoming an AskPatty.com Certified shop has enhanced our presence in the independent automotive service arena. Primarily, it has given me an EDGE in marketing my shop to women in the community, in that just the mere mention of being Certified Female Friendly brings comfort to women who in the past have dreaded going to a mechanic without a male figure at their side for fear of being "ripped off". Partnering with AskPatty.com is the best business decision I made since I bought this business 3 years ago. My business vision always included being a car business that was safe, honest and welcoming to women. But just telling people we were female friendly did not mean anything, and most women I spoke with were skeptical that it was just a gimmick or hype on my part. So I concluded I needed to have credibility and credentials that would independently confirm and legitimize our focus on women as customers.
