Gelina Aquilina

Service Advisor / Mechanic,

Gelina grew up in the garage with her dad who was a mechanic her entire childhood. From a very young age she knew she wanted to be a mechanic when I grew up. Gelina took automotive in high school and ended up Skyline College, where she was completely inspired to pursue automotive full time. Before deciding to dive head 1st into the automotive industry,

Gelina worked in the administrative field for 15 years, where she built amazing customer service skills, complementing her technical knowledge. She is now working towards becoming a mechanic, and hopes to teach automotive in academia one day. Currently working as a service writer at an independent shop, Gelina continues her automotive education at Skyline, gaining certifications along her way, and even working as a peer tutor for automotive students.   As the President of the women’s auto tech club, the Heart Wrenchers, Gelina hopes to one day own an old Chevy K5 Blazer convertible and pass down everything she know about cars to women, especially her young daughter.

My 2003 Honda Accord has been riding great. Has 155,000 miles. Recently noticed that when I am idling, say at a stop light, car would be a little shaky. Like it wanted to stall. Then check engine light came on. Reading on light showed a weak cylinder. Is the car unrepairable? Do I even bother getting it fixed? What would be the repair details for a weak cylinder? I am wondering if I should get rid of car, if anyone would even buy it. Read Answers

I have a 2008 Kia Sorento LX and both the low bean headlights and the day time running lights have stopped working. I have checked the fuses and relays and all are in good working order. I tested the relay by swapping it with another working relay as well as with a new one purchased from Kia. Nothing. At first it was only the Low Bean lights and the DRLs were still working but now the DRLs are not working either. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Cyndy Read Answers
