What type of oil does it take?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Brandy Schaffels, Editor at AskPatty.com, Inc. Hi Terry, You don't say which engine powers your 2015 Chrysler 200, but according to the owner's manual I found here http://cdn.dealereprocess.com/cdn/servicemanuals/chrysler/2015-200.pdf your vehicle should use either 0W-20 or 5W-20. From your owner's manual: "MOPAR® SAE 0W-20 engine oil or equivalent Pennzoil® or Shell Helix® is recommended for all operating temperatures. This engine oil improves low temperature starting and vehicle fuel economy. Your engine oil filler cap also states the recommended engine oil viscosity grade for your engine. Lubricants which do not have both the engine oil certification mark and the correct SAE viscosity grade number should not be used. Engine Oil Viscosity â€" 3.6L Engine MOPAR® SAE 5W-20 engine oil approved to Chrysler Material Standard MS-6395 such as Pennzoil®, Shell Helix® or equivalent is recommended for all operating temperatures. This engine oil improves low temperature starting and vehicle fuel economy. The engine oil filler cap also shows the recommended engine oil viscosity for your engine. For information on engine oil filler cap location, refer to the “Engine Compartment” illustration in this section. NOTE: MOPAR® SAE 5W-30 engine oil approved to Chrysler Material Standard MS-6395 such as Pennzoil®, Shell Helix® or equivalent may be used when SAE 5W-20 engine oil meeting MS-6395 is not available." For additional assistance, please find an AskPatty Certified Repair Shop at http://www.askpatty.com/search/?type=all&m=30&q=&keyword= and they can help you identify which oil is best for your Chrysler 200.
