I would start with checking the oil. Low oil can cause high engine temperatures. Also check the coolant level (when the engine is cold). There may be an internal coolant leak, or the engine may be consuming excessive amounts of oil while operating. A good repair shop should be able to diagnose and repair the cause of your concern.
