My heat and A/C seem to have a short: it will pop on and off. Now my temperature gauge is reading high. What could be wrong?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive Your temperature gauge reading high is an indication of a problem with the engine's cooling system. This should be repaired ASAP as internal engine damage may result from overheating. An issue with the cooling system may cause the climate control not to function properly as the engine is trying to protect itself from any excessive or unnecessary load. Have the vehicle checked out by a reputable repair shop. Also note, that if there is potential engine damage, the vehicle MAY still be covered under warranty.
