I have a 1999 Honda CRV with the 2.0 liter, 5 speed manual. While driving for about a half hour my crv just shut off out on no where doing about 40mph. It will not start again. I put it on a Code reader and it states Crankshaft Position Sensor, Great, but does anyone know where this sensor is located on the 2.0 4cyl motor? Thanks In Advance.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive The Crankshaft Position Sensor is located behind the harmonic balancer. The lower timing cover may need to be removed to gain access. The wiring harness to the sensor may be visible along the bottom of the lower timing cover.

Maryann Croce, Owner at Croce’s Transmission Specialists Hi Thomas, In regards to your 99 Honda Cr-V the crankshaft position sensor usually is located on the Crankshaft timing belt- drive belt pulley. Thanks
