My Toyota Tacoma was damaged by a service repair shop (the driver side door sill, bottom, is dented and paint chipped). They were servicing the truck and it seems that a heavy tool may have been dropped on the sill. The shop checked with employees who worked on the truck and footage from surveillance cameras and responded that there was no evidence of an incident. To ensure satisfaction they are willing to repair the damage which is good however they me to leave the truck with them and they will take it to a body shop they work with. I understand this since they would pay for it however I would like to know how the truck is going to be repaired. I am concerned they may use body filler and it might chip if I hit the area getting in and out of the truck.
Is this typical policy for automotive repair shops and since it is my vehicle shouldn’t they tell me how the repair will be made and allow me the opportunity to ask questions and agree or disagree with it?
