Today I was driving on a multiple lane city highway when the car in the next lane hit a large piece of metal and threw it into my path. My Accord ran over it and carried it underneath before freeing itself and going into another lane of traffic. After that I watched the temperature gauge and it began to go hot. I pulled over as soon as it was safe and called for a tow truck to take it to my Honda dealer. There is damage to the front bumper, radiator, etc. The radiator is pushed back to the motor. It has 99,000 miles and has been an excellent car. My concern and question is if I should get it repaired or might insurance total out my car. I love my car, but am afraid of what it's future might hold.
We are not insurance adjusters, however, the replacement of a radiator and minor repairs does not seem grounds to total a vehicle. Depending on your deductible it may be more cost effective to simply pay out of pocket to repair your vehicle.
