Yes, your transmission oil is the only one in the vehicle that should be checked while it is running. With the vehicle running, pull the dipstick and wipe clean, then reinsert, pull a final time for sure reading.

With the vehicle running, pull out the dipstick & wipe it clean, put it back into the tube and pull it out once again. Check to see where the level is and that the condition is clean.

Hi Serg, On your 2002 Chevy Astro: You check the transmission fluid level while the engine is running and the vehicle is in park. Carefully Remove dipstick and wipe, then reinsert, remove and check fluid level. Good luck.
