My 1996 Honda Accord is in for only front brakes at a local shop. They are telling me that it will be $480.00 dollars. I know they have to use a slid hammer to remove the rotor but $480 for front brakes only seems high.
thank you for any help on this.
Yes, $480 does seem high for only a front brake pad replacement, you may have to replace your rotors as well, but with that in mind this too seems like a high price. You may want to seek a second opinion.

If your Accord was getting a complete brake repair then $480.00 seems like a fair price. I would think for that price you received new good quality pads, rotors and a brake fluid flush.

If you are having pads and rotors replaced, that is about the right price in my area. However, I would make sure the rotors need replacing and not just turned before making the choice. A second opinion seems in order.

It's an average price, depending on location.
