Hello my 1999 Honda accord 2.3 vtec 5 speed manual is having shifting issues...It all stared a week ago my wife was driving the car and got to the gas staying and the clutch lost all pressure so she freaked and tried to force it up into first gear with no luck. I get off work go to tow the car home and managed to pump the clutch up enough to get it into gear and drive it home never getting past second gear. The next day I start by checking fluid levels ...keep in mind she just bought this car a few days prior...Master cylinder was bone dry so I fill it then i use a hose and a bottle of fluid to bleed the line at the slave cylinder. Now I get plenty of pressure at the pedal. When putting the car into 1st, 3rd or 5th it feels like there is no gear to shift to like there not there but they are. I don't know if it is in the clutch or the shifter. I really think it is in the shifter cuz if feels really funky when going into the three but the gears 2nd, 4th, and reverse feel great, good and tight when shifting into the gears. I just need a second opinion before I go taking the shifter and column apart...Thanks
Taking the Shifter apart is not going to be a method to diagnose, it sounds by the way you are describing that your planetary gears in 1st, 3rd, and 5th are no longer aligned. This is an internal transmission concern in which you may need to seek a professional mechanic for further diagnosis.
