while driving my 2011 Chevrolet Malibu through the ice on the roads the ABS light has stayed on on the dash and the service traction messages came on. What is the problem?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amy Mattinat, Owner and Author at Auto Craftsmen Ltd Hi Michelle, If the ABS and Traction Control light are staying on all the time... this means something is wrong with your car and your Malibu's computer has turned off the ABS & Traction Control until it is fixed. I recommend you take it to the nearest AskPatty.com certified female friendly repair shop and have the problem diagnosed and fixed ASAP.

Gail Dunn, Owner at Women's Automotive Connection Those lights mean you aren't getting proper traction on the road surface. If you have no problem on dry roads, the traction control is doing the job it should. If the lights are on while on dry roads, you need to have a good shop diagnosis then.

Gelina Aquilina, Service Advisor / Mechanic at Possible speed sensor? You'd have to have it diagnosed.
