You may need to consider first replacing your spark plugs and wires, if it has been a while since last changed. If the problem still persist you may need to inspect your coil packs for failure.

I do not know if you have done a tune up on your car, but sounds like you need it. This would change out the spark plugs, which may be causing the misfire. On a car of this age, it should be done.
