The air conditioner in my 2001 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class works fine but the heater and defrost only blowing cold air. I have taken it to a couple shops and no one seems to know what the problem is . I cant afford to take is to a Merecedes-Benz dealership right now. Any ideas?
You may need to verify that your blend door on the inside of the dash are still functioning properly, at times the cable that pivots your blend doors from hot to cold get broke. This can cause you to experience heat all the time, or cold air all the time of stuck in one position.

if your blower motor is working, but you only get cold air, it could be you need a new thermostat or your cooling system is plugged up or even you need a new heater core. There is no way to tell unless you bring it to a trained Mercedes mechanic to have it diagnosed.
Ask around and see if you can find an independent shop that specializes in Mercedes. If not, then I recommend taking it to the dealer. It will be cheaper in the long run if you have it diagnosed first instead of having parts thrown at it hoping it will fix your problem.
