Will disconnecting the battery on my 2007 Chevy Cobalt reset the tcm? My transmission will not shift out of low 1. The car was just serviced with an oil change.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Frank, Disconnecting the battery may not fix your concern, you may need to look into replacing your AB shift solenoid. You can often take your vehicle to a local auto parts store and have them read your check engine light to make a determination of this. If you have already retrieved the code and know for sure your TCM is at fault I recommend calling for various quotes in that replacement
