I want to purchase a car that seats 6 adults with some limited luggage and that can be converted to carry bulky cargo when just 2 adults are in the car. I live in NW CT and we get some significant snow and ice on the roads so it is a must that this car handle well in these conditions. I like a manual transmission because of the extra control but am fine with all wheel drive. Good gas mileage is a plus but carrying capacity and road handling are the most important considerations. Where is the best place to do research, what class/type of car would be best for me? Do you have any specific make/model recommendations? I usually purchase gently used vehicles instead of new.
