I changed the transmission in my 2001 Jeep Cherokee, and now it wont start. it will turn over and backfire. It's getting gas to my valve stem where you can see if gas is getting to the lines.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Gail Dunn, Owner at Women's Automotive Connection I do not know how many miles you have on your vehicle, but most Jeeps require a fuel pump around 90k miles. Take it back to shop that installed transmission and inquire. A reputable shop will warranty their work for 12 months, 12,000 mikes. I had a similar problem on my 96 and a new fuel pump fixed it. The problem could also be a relay, but best advice is to check pump.
