The low beam on my 2004 Ford Escape driver's side headlight went out-the high beam still works. Does the whole headlight need to be replaced or just the bulb? If just the bulb, can I do it?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Angie, You can simply twist the plastic housing of the bulb blown, and replace.

Barb Petrey, President - DBK Enterprises Inc at Jiffy Lube It's just the bulb. Both beams are in the same bulb. If you do it yourself make sure not to touch the glass part of the new one. Hold it by just the plastic or metal parts.

Gelina Aquilina, Service Advisor / Mechanic at Should just be a bulb, and yes you might be able to replace it yourself! Sometimes the folks at the parts store will do it for you free of charge.

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive It sounds like it could be just a bulb. This is something you probably could do yourself.
