My 2002 Volkswagen Beetle is running hot. I have changed the thermostat. When I drive about 5 miles the car over heats and relay fans does not come on properly. Does not runs hot when sitting and running but after about 30 minutes it does it again relay fans does not come on and all the fluids back up too reservoir tank. Please help me. Sounds like you may be in the need of a coolant flush, and/or fan relay replacement.

Sounds like the problem is with the fan or the relays that control it.

I would have your cooling system pressure checked as well as having the electronic part of the fan diagnosed.

Have the vehicle towed to a repair shop (you may want to find one that specializes in VW). Until the cause of the overheating is found, you do not want to drive it as this may result in permanent and catastrophic engine damage.
The issue may be as simple as a fan or fan relay. It may also be a coolant flow issue. Either way, you want to have it properly diagnosed.
