I want to fix my taillights on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee so they work but i am not sure what bulb or fuse I need to change and not sure where or which fuse number goes to the taillights. The manual isn't specific enough on saying anything about brake or tail lights.
Raise the lift gate, remove two Bolts from taillight assembly, turn tail bulb connector one third turn counter clock wise, and replace. Fuses are located in a panel on the side dash of drivers side. fuse 7 & 23.

You can go on tubule to find out how to change the bulbs. If those are the only 2 lights out it is not a fuse

Sometimes the fuse diagram in attached to the inside of the fuse box itself. Your headlamps are sealed beams and would be disassembled right at the bulb on the front of the truck.

Is one light not working, or multiple lights not working? Fuses 23 6 4 20 under the driver's side of the dash are all part of the exterior lighting system. These vehicles did have issues with the bulb sockets (single bulb out) as well as the multifunction switch that controls the lights (all bulbs out). These parts can get expensive, and are usually not returnable once purchased. If the bulb is good, you may want to get it diagnosed by a repair shop first.
