My check engine light came on on my 2013 Dodge Avenger. The car has only 1600 miles. Checked the gas cap, the light still has not gone out after several stops. Also the remote starter on the key fob won't start the car.
At times, if its due to a gas cap being loose it may take a few key cycles to reset. I recommend that you have your vehicle checked out by the dealership.

Your vehicle is covered under warranty. You should go to the dealer to find out what the problem is and have it repaired.

The car is under warranty so go back to the dealer where you bought it.

It's very easy to plug a scan tool in to see why the check engine light is on, but with only 1600 miles, the dealership should address these issues under warranty.

A 2013 should be under warranty. Take it back to the dealer and let them fix it.
Is the remote start factory or aftermarket? If it came installed on delivery, it is also the dealer's problem. If you had it installed after purchasing the car, take it back to where it was installed.

Hi Linda, On your 2013 Avenger, I would suggest getting the codes reset. Check engines lights need to be addressed. Have the technician record the codes so you know what issues your vehicle is having. With your vehicle being a 2013 and with only 1600 miles I would suggest going to a dealer. Your vehicle should still be under warranty.
