My Chevrolet Astro has a rattle that I can feel in my steering wheel. My steering does not seem to be effected. The rattle/rumble seems to come from under the hood but nothing seems to be loose. I use my truck off road everyday. Is this something I should be worried about?
You may be hearing a rattle noise coming from your front struts or from your tie rod ends. I suggest that you have an inspection,to verify what may be producing this noise.

Probably should have someone check the steering suspension and brakes to see If there is something loose.

Anytime something that shouldn't rattle does, you are better off having it checked just to be safe. When does it rattle? (i.e. when stopping, when sitting and idling, acceleration?)

Kathy, About your 2008 Astro, Note when the rattle is happening. Examples: At idle, while driving at slower speeds, at highway speeds. This will help a technician and you with (cost of diagnostic time). Your concern could be broken mounts, exhaust rattle, or something hitting the vehicle body. At highway speeds it could be wheels out of balance or the drive shaft out of balance, just to name a few. The best thing to do is have a technician road test the vehicle to verify your concern. For noises or rattles they will also do an under carriage inspection. Good luck!
