My 2006 Ford Escort heater is stuck on the floor setting and defrost. The knob for heater stripped and is lying on floor. I've pulled HVAC control out found the cable mechanism binding. I've removed the cable selector from side of hVAC box and cannot get the blend door to move. Any suggestions on how to repair this?

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive sounds like the blend door itself is either seized or broken. Either way, dissassembly of the HVAC box to find out whats going on internally would be required. Individual replacement peices may or may not be available for the blend door. You may end up having to replace the hvac box.
