I just purchased a used 05 Nissan Xterra, V6. I'd like to put the best oil filter and oil in the vehicle when I get my oil changed. I'm confused about what brand filter and which oil to use. What's your advise? Thanks

Patty Streeter, at AskPatty.com I recommend using name brand high quality motor oil, I like synthetic oil in my vehicles and Fram oil filters. You can lean more about motor oil approved by the API ( American Petroleum Institute at www.motoroilmatters.org

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive Greetings, Mobil 1 puts out a very good oil product, as does CAM2 and Pennzoil. Fram oil filters are also very good. To get the right oil for the car, you need to know more than just the weight of oil required. Better quality oils will list specific manufacturer's and oil part numbers on the back of the bottle if they meet or exceed their specifications on quality and composition.
