My Pontiac Vibe front driver side brakes will not release when letting off the pedal! I already put new brakes and new brake calipers. What else could be the problem?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Brandy Schaffels, Editor at AskPatty.com, Inc. Without knowing anything about the condition or mileage of your car, this sounds like a problem the mechanic who performed your last brake job should address.

Julie Scroggins, Vice President, CFO at Waukegan Tire and Supply Company Inc. There is a short flexible brake hose that runs from the hard line to the caliper. These hoses collapse on the inside and won't allow the brake to release. Have your tech crack open the bleeder on the caliper and see if the pressure releases.
