The front brakes on my car went bad, My mechanic says I need brake pads and rotors. He also said the left caliper caused the problem. He is reccomending that I replace both front calipers and both front brakes hoses. My question is, Do I need the reccomended items? or is he just trying to sell me something I don't need.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Colleen McGee, Driving Instructor at Americas Driving School Hi Erica, I would get a second opinion. I went to one brake shop who said I needed about $700.00 of work including new rotors and pads. I took it to another brake shop, one I trusted more ad they said all I needed was the brakes cleaned for just $79.00. That was almost a year ago and no problems with the brakes.
