My car is clicking in the engine. What is wrong with it? Whenever I turn it on it clicks and it clicks at a pretty fast pace too. It sounds like a metronome set at an allegro tempo. I don't know if this is dangerous or not. Please help!

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Torie, You may be hearing a lifter tick, this is a component in the valve train that can cause a fast paced clicking noise. Of possibly something is obstructed in the fan, I recommend an inspection, and don't hesitate for a second opinion if need be.
