I have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner. Suddenly it will not move in reverse and engine will die in drive.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amy Mattinat, Owner and Author at Auto Craftsmen Ltd Toby, it sounds like you are having a problem with the transmission of your 4Runner. -Check to see if there is any transmission fluid in the vehicle. -If yes... is it old and burnt? -if no... Check to see if there is transmission fluid all over the underbody of the truck. If so - then you sprung a big leak. Either way - I recommend you have it towed to a professional auto technician for a thorough diagnosis.

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Toby, It sounds like you should get your transmission looked at. You can check the fluid level first, but it may be more than that.
