just bought a car which only had 35.000 miles on it and is in great shape, but when I take off from start it has a hesition, not like its not getting gas, but maybe the transmission? The car has a ton of power, shifts fine thru gears, it's just 1st and second gear feels different from my highlander. Are there any transmission concers with a Toyota 4 runner?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Rick, As far as I can see there are no past service bulletins on transmission issues for the 4runner. You do, however, have an A/B shift selinoid just inside the transmission pan. With such low miles, I would not anticipate any service issues especially with it being a Toyota. You may be experiencing a difference it simple "feel" from a Highlander to a 4Runner.
