Is it normal for a car to have a bump in that can be felt in the backseat? The technicians say that it is gas sloshing, it occurs if the car is over three-quarters of a tank full and continues until it is less than a half of a tank. I feel that it is not a normal characteristic of any vehicle I have ever owned. Has anyone else experienced this?

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Amanda J. Pierce, MBA Karen, Yes, this is a characteristic of the newer camry, you do feel the reverberation of gasoline "sloshing" in the tank under the back seat.

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Karen, I've never even heard gas sloshing around and making noise inside a vehicle. I would take it someplace else for another opinion. Lori Johnson
