Notice that the battery always charges High for the first several miles. It seems that this is abnormally high and will make he battery Gas. Car basically runs OK except for several times there has been a loss of steering assist. Which has started my search. On the Ground of the Battery there is what looks like a Current transformer. Could this be padded to give less output? Fool the control to thinking the battery is already at a higher charge than it is. 13.8 - 14.2 would be OK ? David Lawry

Helaine Kurot, Owner/Technician at 360 Automotive There is a recall out on this vehicle. Take it back to the dealer and let them do what they need to do. Also, let them know about the charging issue. There may be a software update to correct this. Trying to trick the computer will cause more (expensive) problems than it will likely solve.
