My automatic 2000 Honda Accord with 150,000 miles on it sometimes shifts hard. Sometimes when I am at a stop sign and then start to go, it takes it a half second to go, then it jerks and starts to go. Sometimes shifting from say first to second, it jerks. Does this mean my transmission is slipping and may go out soon.
This does sound like you need servicing or replacing your transmission. Check your service records and bring your car into your local shop for an inspection. Go over your records with a technician and make sure you ask questions about your options.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

The first thing you can do is check the level of the transmission fluid. It will tell you how to do this in your owner's manual. It may be that the fluid is low. If not, you may want to try getting a fluid change, this may help.
If you haven't done the service, or don't know when it was done last they sometimes recommend that you leave it in high mileage vehicles. Since you're having a problem however, it would be best to try the fluid change first before looking at a new transmission.
