Depending on what engine you have; The ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor) typically is directly to the left of the throttle body when you are looking at the throttle body side of the V-6 engine. Also, the ECT is directly next to the ignition distributor on the front belt side of the four-cylinder engine. I am not sure if you have a V-6 or a four-cylinder, but this should point you in the right direction.
This picture; http://autorepair.about.com/od/glossary/ss/Honda-Accord-Egr-Valve-And-Coolant-Temperature-Sensor-Locations.htm should give you more of a visual though it is listed for 98-99 models the picture is the same for the sensor.
I hope this helps!! Thank You for writing into AskPatty.

The coolant temp sensor is behind the distributor ( 4 cyl engine) usually covered in oil next to a coolant hose usually oil soaked.
