When I was driving my car it is starting acting like it was going to shut off and it would not speed up when I stepped on the gas. I pulled into a parking spot and it just shut off and will not start now. Sounds like it is trying to start but will not. I have been told maybe it is my timing belt or fuel pump. I do not know maybe you gals may know.
In my opinion, your description does seem to indicate that your fuel pump may have failed. With your situation, it sounds like that may be the case because the vehicle acts like it may run out of fuel in the tank and will not restart until the pump has been replaced.
Hope this helps!!

Sounds like a Fuel Pump, but this one is hard to guesstimate without seeing the vehicle... Do you hear a wirrr noise from the back when you turn the key to on? If you broke a timing belt the engine has a totally different sound cranking over due to a lack of compression. If you have replaced the belt or if it has less than 90k, it is not likely a belt.
It does sound like you will need to take it to a trusted technician to do some easy tests.
