This sound may be caused by your blower motor in the dash. This is a squirrel cage type that forces air through your vents. At times you may hear reverberations or feedback from this blower motor it is more annoying than dangerous.

I do not think it sounds dangerous BUT, without actually seeing your car, I can not tell you positively if it is a dangerous situation or not. If you can produce the sound come on demand, when you are on the road, pass by your auto shop and ask them to take a listen.

The noise may be coming from the Blower Motor, which probably is not a dangerous condition.
However best to have it checked out:) Stop in a Repair Shop and have them take a listen.
Ask your friends for recommendations, there are many great independent shops out there!

It is not dangerous the only problem is the heater fan motor is probably failing. It will eventually quit all together!
Hope this helps.
