Nearly a week ago, I asked the question, is there any way I can "soften" the ride in my new 2009 Volvo S40? Different tires, ???? I love the car and the size, but it has a very stiff ride, especially over all the "repaired" pot holes. I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you. Jane

You'll have to weigh the expense of the new tires with how important a little bit of a softer ride makes for you. Without knowing what kind of tires you currently have, it's hard to say how much, if any, improvement replacing them will offer. Talk to a local tire dealer and get their opinion. Tell them you're specifically looking for a tire that offers a smoother, softer ride.
