I have a 2002 Ford Expedition that is having electrical problems such as truck in park shifter would not change in to gear, windows not going down, NOW windshield wipers quitting and fuse changed and smelt burning...Could this be coming from the speed control switch recall.

Answers from the Automotive Experts

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Dana, It sounds like you have a couple problems. If the shifter won't go into gear it could be your neutral safety switch. Usually there is a way to over-ride this. Check your owner's manual. If the over-ride works, have the switch checked out. Windows could be the actual switch or a problem with the motor and if you change a fuse and smell burning, there is definitely something up with the electrical system. I would suggest that you have a Ford technician look at your vehicle to give you a proper diagnosis. They will have the best knowledge of a possible recall or TSB problem.
