My 1995 Subaru legacy wagon has developed a rattle under the hood. It appears to come and go. Not the squeal of a loose fan belt though. A definite rattle. Any idea what the problem could be?

Lori Johnson, Owner and Instructor at Ladies Start Your Engines Dear Kathy, Unfortunately, without seeing the vehicle it would be very hard to diagnose a rattle. It's hard to tell what might be loose. I would suggest that you have a technician listen to it with you when you hear the noise. They should be able to narrow it down by hearing it. Good luck.
